PRE-OWNED STONES
Although we don’t melt metal, we’re more than happy to incorporate gemstones or diamonds from your previously treasured pieces.
If you are in Gadigal Country (Sydney, Australia) please bring any existing pieces / stones you wish to include to your initial consult.
If you are not able to come for an in-person consultation at Laura Miers HQ we ask that you take clear photos of your stones next to a ruler (see example), clearly showing the dimensions, and email them to us.
We will then use these photos or tangible gemstones to draw initial, estimate designs and create quotes.
Once your deposit is paid; production will commence. If you have visited us at Laura Miers HQ we will secure your stones during the intial consult, and give you a holding receipt. If you are elsewhere, we suggest AusPost ‘Express Shipping, Signature Required on Delivery’ and opting for ‘AusPost Insurance’ as our insurance does not cover parcels in transit to us.
Once the stones are removed from the setting a more accurate measurement will be taken. The cut and condition of the stone will be assessed to assure the measurements fit with the initial design. We will also assess that the cut is appropriate for the design. If there are any variations to the stone that weren’t anticipated, the design will be slightly altered to align with the new measurements.
Following completion of production, any scrap metal will be returned with your new Custom Piece.
